Itulah sebagian berita gaib yang Kami wahyukan kepadamu Muhammad; padahal engkau tidak berada di samping mereka, ketika mereka bersepakat mengatur tipu muslihat untuk memasukkan Yusuf ke dalam sumur. وَمَاۤ اَكۡثَرُ النَّاسِ وَلَوۡ حَرَصۡتَ بِمُؤۡمِنِيۡنَ Wa maa aksarun naasi wa law harasta bimu'miniin 103. Dan kebanyakan manusia tidak akan beriman walaupun engkau sangat menginginkannya. وَمَا تَسۡــَٔلُهُمۡ عَلَيۡهِ مِنۡ اَجۡرٍ‌ؕ اِنۡ هُوَ اِلَّا ذِكۡرٌ لِّـلۡعٰلَمِيۡنَ Wa maa tas'aluhum 'alaihi min ajr; in huwa illaa zikrul lil'aalamiin 104. Dan engkau tidak meminta imbalan apa pun kepada mereka terhadap seruanmu ini, sebab seruan itu adalah pengajaran bagi seluruh alam. وَكَاَيِّنۡ مِّنۡ اٰيَةٍ فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالۡاَرۡضِ يَمُرُّوۡنَ عَلَيۡهَا وَهُمۡ عَنۡهَا مُعۡرِضُوۡنَ‏ Wa ka ayyim min Aayatin fis samaawaati wal ardi yamurruuna 'alaihaa wa hum 'anhaa mu'riduun 105. Dan berapa banyak tanda-tanda kebesaran Allah di langit dan di bumi yang mereka lalui, namun mereka berpaling daripadanya. وَمَا يُؤۡمِنُ اَكۡثَرُهُمۡ بِاللّٰهِ اِلَّا وَهُمۡ مُّشۡرِكُوۡنَ Wa maa yu'minu aksaru hum billaahi illaa wa hum mushrikuun 106. Dan kebanyakan mereka tidak beriman kepada Allah, bahkan mereka mempersekutukan-Nya. اَفَاَمِنُوۡۤا اَنۡ تَاۡتِيَهُمۡ غَاشِيَةٌ مِّنۡ عَذَابِ اللّٰهِ اَوۡ تَاۡتِيَهُمُ السَّاعَةُ بَغۡتَةً وَّ هُمۡ لَا يَشۡعُرُوۡنَ Afa aminuuu an taatiya hum ghaashiyatum min 'azaabil laahi aw taatiyahumus Saa'atu baghtatanw wa hum laa yash'uruun 107. Apakah mereka merasa aman dari kedatangan siksa Allah yang meliputi mereka, atau kedatangan Kiamat kepada mereka secara mendadak, sedang mereka tidak menyadarinya? قُلۡ هٰذِهٖ سَبِيۡلِىۡۤ اَدۡعُوۡۤا اِلَى اللّٰهِ ۚ ‌عَلٰى بَصِيۡرَةٍ اَنَا وَمَنِ اتَّبَعَنِىۡ‌ؕ وَسُبۡحٰنَ اللّٰهِ وَمَاۤ اَنَا مِنَ الۡمُشۡرِكِيۡنَ Qul haazihii sabiiliii ad'uuu ilal laah; 'alaa basiira tin ana wa manit taba'anii wa Subhaanal laahi wa maaa ana minal mushrikiin 108. Katakanlah Muhammad, "Inilah jalanku, aku dan orang-orang yang mengikutiku mengajak kamu kepada Allah dengan yakin, Mahasuci Allah, dan aku tidak termasuk orang-orang musyrik." وَمَاۤ اَرۡسَلۡنَا مِنۡ قَبۡلِكَ اِلَّا رِجَالًا نُّوۡحِىۡۤ اِلَيۡهِمۡ مِّنۡ اَهۡلِ الۡقُرٰى‌ؕ اَفَلَمۡ يَسِيۡرُوۡا فِى الۡاَرۡضِ فَيَنۡظُرُوۡا كَيۡفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الَّذِيۡنَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِهِمۡؕ وَلَدَارُ الۡاٰخِرَةِ خَيۡرٌ لِّـلَّذِيۡنَ اتَّقَوۡا ‌ؕ اَفَلَا تَعۡقِلُوۡنَ Wa maaa arsalnaa min qablika illaa rijaalan nuuhiii ilaihim min ahlil quraa; afalam yasiiruu fil ardi fa yanzuruu kaifa kaana 'aaqibatul laziina min qablihim; wa la Daarul Aakhirati Khairul lillaziinat taqaw; afalaa ta'qiluun 109. Dan Kami tidak mengutus sebelummu Muhammad, melainkan orang laki-laki yang Kami berikan wahyu kepadanya di antara penduduk negeri. Tidakkah mereka bepergian di bumi lalu melihat bagaimana kesudahan orang-orang sebelum mereka yang mendustakan rasul. Dan sungguh, negeri akhirat itu lebih baik bagi orang yang bertakwa. Tidakkah kamu mengerti? حَتّٰۤى اِذَا اسۡتَيۡــَٔسَ الرُّسُلُ وَظَنُّوۡۤا اَنَّهُمۡ قَدۡ كُذِبُوۡا جَآءَهُمۡ نَصۡرُنَا ۙ فَـنُجِّىَ مَنۡ نَّشَآءُ ‌ؕ وَلَا يُرَدُّ بَاۡسُنَا عَنِ الۡقَوۡمِ الۡمُجۡرِمِيۡنَ Hattaaa izas tai'asar Rusulu wa zannuuu annahum qad kuzibuu jaaa'ahum nas runaa fanujjiya man nashaaa'u wa laa yuraddu baasunna 'anil qawmil mujrimiin 110. Sehingga apabila para rasul tidak mempunyai harapan lagi tentang keimanan kaumnya dan telah meyakini bahwa mereka telah didustakan, datanglah kepada mereka para rasul itu pertolongan Kami, lalu diselamatkan orang yang Kami kehendaki. Dan siksa Kami tidak dapat ditolak dari orang yang berdosa. لَـقَدۡ كَانَ فِىۡ قَصَصِهِمۡ عِبۡرَةٌ لِّاُولِى الۡاَلۡبَابِ‌ؕ مَا كَانَ حَدِيۡثًا يُّفۡتَـرٰى وَلٰـكِنۡ تَصۡدِيۡقَ الَّذِىۡ بَيۡنَ يَدَيۡهِ وَتَفۡصِيۡلَ كُلِّ شَىۡءٍ وَّهُدًى وَّرَحۡمَةً لِّـقَوۡمٍ يُّؤۡمِنُوۡنَ Laqad kaana fii qasasihim 'ibratul li ulil albaa; maa kaana hadiisany yuftaraa wa laakin tasdiiqal lazii baina yadihi wa tafsiila kulli shai'inw wa hudanw wa rahmatal liqawminy yu'minuun 111. Sungguh, pada kisah-kisah mereka itu terdapat pengajaran bagi orang yang mempunyai akal. All the members of his family have been forced by famine to come before him for help. The same jealous brothers, who had made an attempt on his life, are now standing before him with downcast heads. Had there been a “successful man of the world” in his place, he would have used this opportunity for boasting of his greatness and bragging of his successes, and giving vent to his grievances and hurling malicious taunts at his defeated enemies. In utter contrast to this, the true man of God behaves in a quite different way. Instead of boasting and bragging of his own greatness, he is grateful to his God Who had shown grace to him by raising him to such a high position of power, and for arranging his meeting with his people after such a long period of separation. Instead of giving vent to his grievances against his brothers, making taunts at them for their ill treatment, he does not make even a mention of such things but puts up a defense for them, saying that it was all due to Satan, who had stirred up strife between them nay, he even puts it forward as a blessing in disguise, being one of the mysterious ways of Allah by which He had fulfilled His design of raising him to the throne. After saying these things in a few concise sentences, he at once turns to his Lord in gratitude for bestowing on him kingdom and wisdom, instead of letting him rot in the prison, and prays to Him to keep him as His faithful and obedient servant as long as he was alive, and to join him with the righteous people after his death. What a pure and high pattern of character. It is strange that this speech of Prophet Joseph has neither found a place in the Bible nor in the Talmud, though these books are full of irrelevant and unimportant details of this story and others. It is an irony that these Books are void of those things that teach moral values and throw light on the real characters and the mission of the Prophets. Now that this story has come to an end, the readers are again reminded that this story of Prophet Joseph as given in the Quran is not a copy of the story given in the Bible and the Talmud for there are striking differences between them. A comparative study of these Books will show that the story in the Quran differs from that given in the other two Books in several very important parts. The Quran contains additional facts in some cases and omits certain facts in other cases or even refutes some parts as contained in the Bible and the Talmud. In the Two Sahihs it is recorded that `A’ishah, may Allah be pleased with her, said that while dying, the Messenger of Allah was raising his finger and said – thrice, اللَّهُمَّ فِي الرَّفِيقِ الْأَعْلَى» ثَلَاثًا O Allah to Ar-Rafiq Al-A`la ﴿the uppermost, highest company in heaven﴾. Surat Yusuf Ayat 88. Maka ketika mereka masuk ke (tempat) Yusuf, mereka berkata: "Hai Al Aziz, kami dan keluarga kami telah ditimpa kesengsaraan dan kami datang membawa barang-barang yang tak berharga, maka sempurnakanlah sukatan untuk kami, dan bersedekahlah kepada kami, sesungguhnya Allah memberi balasan kepada orang-orang yang bersedekah".
